Fort Stockton residents and guests were truly entertained as Pat ‘Guitar Slim’ Chase and his band performed Sunday evening, June 22, 2003, in Zero Stone Park. More than 300 attendees braved the 100 plus degree temperatures of the day to be sung to and rocked at the second concert in the Blue Moon On The Park series. Vendors were on hand with food, drink and homemade ice cream. People felt comfortable enough to dance on the sidewalk, lounge on the grass or in lawn chairs, and many remained in their vehicles. The weather was pleasant with a wonderful cooling breeze and entertainment that was enjoyed by everyone in the park. ‘Guitar Slim’ left the gazebo and joined the hundreds on the park lawn and sang, played his guitar up close and personal, even performing while standing on a table.
